Steve Goldbach, Violin

Steve Goldbach, a native of the Pittsburgh area, is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at Duquesne University under the tutelage of Rachel Stegeman. He freelances throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, having been contracted by orchestras such as Butler Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and River Cities Symphony Orchestra. Goldbach has also won an audition to play with Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. He plays in a number of ensembles at the Mary Pappert School of Music where he has been seated in principal positions. Steve is also an enthusiastic teacher, having recently started teaching students at Pittsburgh Music Academy.

Also active as an orchestral musician, Ms. Baker is the second bassoonist/contrabassoonist with the Westmoreland Symphony and principal bassoonist with the Academy Chamber Orchestra. She was recently appointed principal contrabassoonist with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and has performed with many other orchestras in the area.

Ms. Baker is passionate about teaching and has served as the bassoon instructor at Slippery Rock University since 2010. In addition to maintaining a private studio, she has also served on the faculty of Seton Hill University and the Cleveland Music School Settlement Summer Music Camp.

Ms. Baker is also a registered nurse and is an advocate for musician health and wellness. She is an oncology-certified nurse and is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
