Musician Spotlight: Carrie Walsh Erdely, Violin

https://bit.ly/4r4HnvpYour Butler County Symphony Orchestra is proud to highlight Carrie Walsh Erdely, an accomplished violinist and dedicated educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching the Suzuki method. Carrie holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Violin Performance from Duquesne University and also attended Carnegie Mellon University. A passionate and highly respected teacher, she has trained students of all ages, helping many earn placement in youth orchestras throughout the Pittsburgh region. She previously served as Head of the String Department and a longtime board member at the Pittsburgh Music Academy, and from 2014 to 2021, she was the Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Intensive Camp.

In addition to her extensive teaching career, Carrie is an active and versatile performing violinist. She has played with numerous ensembles across the region, including the Wheeling Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Butler County Symphony Orchestra, Washington Symphony, and Youngstown Symphony. Beyond the concert stage, she frequently shares her artistry through church recitals, chamber performances, and wedding music, enriching her community with her warm sound and expressive musicianship.
