Musician Spotlight: Cecilia Caughman, Principal CelloYour Butler County Symphony Orchestra is proud to feature Cecilia Caughman, a dynamic and multifaceted cellist based in Pittsburgh, PA. Originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, Cecilia holds a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, as well as a Master of Music and Advanced Music Studies certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. Her career reflects a wide range of musical interests, spanning classical, contemporary, and crossover genres, and she brings that versatility to every ensemble she performs with. Link in bio.

Cecilia is a member of the rock-inspired cello ensemble Cello Fury, the contemporary chamber group Kamratōn, and the Academy String Quartet. She also performs regularly with regional orchestras including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Butler County Symphony Orchestra, Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. Beyond her work on stage, Cecilia has contributed behind the scenes as Librarian for both the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.

Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians, Cecilia maintains an active teaching studio in Pittsburgh and serves as Adjunct Instructor of Cello at Seton Hill University.

Cecilia will perform with us during our sold-out Holiday Traditions concert on Saturday, Dec. 6.
