Musician Spotlight: Denise Gamble, Principal French HornYour Butler County Symphony Orchestra is proud to spotlight Denise Gamble, a lifelong musician whose passion for the French horn began in fifth grade. A graduate of Kiski Area High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Morehead State University and her Master of Music from Kent State University. Denise taught music in the Armstrong School District for 30 years, with a special love for middle school band. She has been Principal Horn of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra for forty years and also performs with the Johnstown Symphony and the Armstrong Brass Quintet. A devoted freelance musician, she studied with notable instructors including Dr. David McNaughton, Milford Kuhn, David Kimball, Milan Yancich, and Zach Smith of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Outside of performing, Denise enjoys sewing, scrapbooking, traveling, cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates, and spending time with her family. She is married to Vernon McGinnis and is proud of her daughter, grandson, and extended blended family.
