2026 Concerto Winner: Quin Coltman, Saxophone

CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNERWe’re thrilled to announce that Quin Coltman has been selected as the winner of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.

Quin will perform his winning concerto, Escapades by John Williams (from the film Catch Me If You Can), with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra during Crossroads of Sound on March 7, 2026. This special performance celebrates emerging talent and our continued commitment to supporting the next generation of musicians.

A native of Ashtabula County, Ohio, Quin is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education and Saxophone Performance at Slippery Rock University. An active and accomplished performer, he is a member of SRU’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and ARC Saxophone Quartet, with performance highlights including appearances at the PMEA Conference, the National Saxophone Symposium, and the North American Saxophone Alliance Conference. Quin has also participated in recording projects and world premiere performances with SRU ensembles.Beyond the stage, Quin is deeply committed to music education and service. He currently serves as President of the SRU Saxophone Club and Vice President of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA) chapter. He also works as a preschool music educator and mentors young musicians as a marching band saxophone instructor for Seneca Valley High School and Conneaut High School.
