Carrie Yamamoto, Violin

Carrie is a freelance violinist with a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music. A native of Salem, Oregon, Carrie slowly made her way out east by first moving to Interlochen, Michigan to complete her high school diploma with a violin performance concentration at Interlochen Arts Academy.  Her love of music began at the age of three when she began piano studies, followed by violin studies starting at age six.

In addition to freelancing, Carrie is a Pennsylvania-licensed attorney practicing commercial litigation in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh.  Her studies in music led her to a career in law where she aspires to use her knowledge of the music industry to help musicians protect their intellectual property.

When she is not advocating or concertizing, Carrie is often found reading or at Pure Barre.  Her favorite authors include J.D. Salinger, Robert Kolker, and Delia Owens.  She hopes to one day obtain certification as a Pure Barre instructor.
