The Young Artist Competition is an annual program sponsored by the Butler Symphony that allows student musicians the opportunity to compete against other local up-and-coming musicians. The competition is made up of two divisions that alternate every other year between college and high school-age musicians. The winner of the competition receives a cash prize and performs with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra in the April concert.
This coming year, 2018/2019, will be the college-age division. Students can submit applications to participate in our Young Artist Competition which will take place at Swope Music Hall at Slippery Rock University in January. The winner will have the opportunity to perform their piece with the Butler Symphony in the Fire & Water concert held in April.
When information about applications is available it will be posted here, on our Facebook page, and sent to local colleges and universities.
