Vocalist Elary Mede (IUP) to perform with Butler County Symphony Orchestra

Vocalist Elary Mede of IUP won the 2019 BCSO Collegiate Concerto Competition and will perform her selections with the Butler Symphony on Sunday, April 14th at the concert “Fire & Water.”

Elary will perform her three winning selections from the competition when she joins the BCSO on stage in april.

  • “Summertime” from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess
  • “Dove sono i bei momenti” from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro
  • “V’adoro, Pupille” from Handel’s Julius Caesar

Soloist Bio

Elary Mede is a Sophomore Vocal Performance Major, studying at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Mary Logan Hastings. Her stage credits at IUP include the role of Barbarina in IUP’s production of Figaro! Figaro! Figaro! and Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Elary is a part the IUP Chorale and Chamber singers. She is also a member of the Professional music fraternity Delta Omicron. Elary is singing and wants to sing a vast repertoire because she wants to as versatile as possible.  Nowadays, she is excited for what the future holds for her, but she is content being a student and just improving day by day.
